The XX Estudios Sencillos have been published in 4 series, over a span of 25 years, and undoubtedly represent a small patrimony of compositions for our instrument, which transcend mere technical interest. These are works that are strongly influenced by the influence of the composer Bela Bartok and his Mikrokosmos and a rhythmic experience that we have already defined Afro-Cuban. In particular, the first 10 studies were composed between 1959 and 1961 belonging to his first compositional period; the next 10 studies are written in 1981.
